Doha: The AFC Dream Asia School Challenge which concluded here on Friday, 28 January 2011, has given the 2,000-strong Malaysian community in Qatar an opportunity to play new roles in community relations. Malaysian Association of Qatar President Mohd Adam Abu Hassan told Inside AFC Asian Cup that the School Challenge was a rare opportunity for the expatriate communities and locals in Qatar to interact with others. "This programme provided the platform for Malaysian community through MAQ to make our presence felt. We are surely small in numbers, but that does not mean we cannot contribute effectively," he said. MAQ was formed on 14 April 2000 to cater for the growing number of Malaysian expatriates in Qatar and is fully recognised by the Malaysian Embassy . MYjom
